The award-winning MacToPic Plus program allows a Macintosh to be connected to host systems running UNIX, PICK, UniData, Prime and Vmarkﾕs uniVerse; emulating ADDS Viewpoint, Wyse 50/60, DEC VT101, or McDonnell Douglas Prism terminals. Data transferred from the host computer can be used in Mac spreadsheets, databases, word processors, page layout and other programs.
To take advantage of AppleScript, read the File called MacToPic +ｪ and AppleScript. It is inside of the MTP+ Sample Scripts folder. If you can't read this file (it is a Microsoft Word document, there is a html version at our web site on the Internet. Inside of this same folder is a folder with a file that needs to be put into your extensions folder (look at the readme file there for info about the CarnationToExcel file).
Also, read the ReadMe file inside of the AppleScripts folder.
MacToPic Plus supports screen text capture as editable text or a picture. You can lasso a section of the screen and copy it into the clipboard as text or graphics.
The Plus version supports the CommToolBox, which allows connection to networks running Ethernet, Appletalk, TCP/IP and other connection tools written for the CommToolBox; as well as file transfer tools such as Xmodem, Ymodem, ZModem, Kermit and FTP. (Xmodem and Text tools are included).
Up to 10 multiple session windows can be open at the same time.
MacToPic Plus also provides multimedia capabilities. Color pictures and QuickTime movies can be displayed under host control. Other capabilities include mouse selection of host menu items, romotely controlled data transfers, page forward/back capability and full function key support.
MacToPic Plus has been extensively tested with the following host computers: IBM RT, IBM RS6000, IBM 386/486, Sun, Compaq 286 & 386, Ultimate, McDonnell Douglas, Altos, Adds Mentor, C.Itoh, Wyse 386, Everex, GA, DEC, Prime, Encore, Sanyo/Icon, Sequoia, Fujitsu, HP, ADP, Data General, Sun and Stratus and more.
MacToPic was awarded the Pro-Gramme for best utility of 1993 by it's users and the International Database Managers Association.
Note: you must have a minimum of two tools installed in the Extensions folder to use the CommToolBox with MacToPic Plus: Xmodem tool and Serial Tool.
